Jay Stephenson


Jay Stephenson is a New York based, Canadian baritone who has been lauded both for his rich vocal timbre and his sincere commitment to the characters he portrays.

Jay Stephenson has performed with a number of professional "boutique" opera companies in the Los Angeles area, and he has played many principle roles including:

Aeneas, Alfio, Belcore, Ben, Dandini, Danilo, Don Alfonso, Enrico, Falke, Germont, Gianni Schicchi, Gobineau, Guglielmo, Leoporello, Papageno, Paquiro, Peter, Renato, Riccardo, Rigoletto, Schaunard, Silvio, Sulpice, Tonio, Valentin, and Zuniga.

Jay can be seen in the feature film Once Upon a Time - The Rock Opera that won an award for best ensemble cast at the 2016 Kapow Film Festival. Other highlights include creating the roles of George R.R. Martin in Game of Thrones - The Musical, Felix in Olvera Street, and Anthony in Marie's Orchard. Jay was also given the rare opportunity to sing the role of Gernot in Richard Wagner’s first opera, Die Feen. His concert solo work includes Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, and Requiem, Op. 9 by Maurice Durufle.
